East China’s Jiangsu province has spared no efforts to step up its efforts in the pairing-up education support in Tibet to ensure that the Tibetan children can have access to quality education.

On the playground of a kindergarten, children from second grade were playing games. In the classroom, first grade students were getting to know about caterpillars with the help of multimedia and teaching aids.

Since August last year, the Jiangsu Experimental Kindergarten in Lhasa admitted 194 children on boarding basis.

At the end of 2017, the Headquarters of Jiangsu’s Pairing-up Support in Tibet decided to invest nearly 30 million in Lhasa to build a modern demonstration kindergarten.

Two senior preschool teaching experts were invited to participate in the public recruitment of local teachers.

20 teachers of Tibetan and Chinese ethnic groups were selected to serve as temporary teachers in first-class kindergartens in Nanjing and Xuzhou.

Outstanding kindergarten principals are placed in charge of the daily operation such as organizing regular teacher training and collective lesson preparation, making the kindergarten a must-attend for the parents in Lhasa. The children have surprised the parents since they were admitted into the kindergarten one year ago.

The growth of the child, the praise from the parents, and the encouragement from the principal make the kindergarten teachers feel more professional.

Since the 13th five-year plan period, Jiangsu has sent 277 teachers to Tibet under the pairing-up support scheme.

Jiangsu has helped Tibet develop an education system ranging from pre-school education to higher education, as is evidenced by the success of Lhasa Jiangsu Experimental Middle School and Lhasa Second Vocational and Technical School.
