East China’s Jiangsu province will spare no efforts to strengthen cooperation in poverty reduction with southwest China’s Guizhou Province by following the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era and the Xi Jinping’s important instructions on poverty alleviation. The remark was made by Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, on Tuesday and Wednesday when going on an inspection tour in Tongren city of Guizhou province to inspect the progress of Jiangsu’s pairing-up support. Guizhou Provincial Party Secretary Sun Zhigang and Governor Chen Yiqin were present during the inspection tour.
Lou Qinjian inspected Wangjia Residential Community in Wanshan District, Tongren city, to learn about the achievements made in the relocation and resettlement of the needy people from the impoverished areas.
The largest cross-regional relocation site for poverty alleviation in Tongren settles more than 4000 needy families.
During the inspection tour, Lou was pleased to see that the new type of community is well planned with complete public services, and the residents are living a modern urban life.
In the community’s embroidery workshop, local women are making embroidery products under the guidance of Suzhou embroidery masters.
Lou Qinjian told them that the combination of Suzhou embroidery and Miao ethnic embroidery will definitely boost the market space. Tongren is heavily inhabited by the Miao ethnic people, one of the large ethnic groups in China.
In the human resources market jointly operated by Suzhou High-tech Zone and Wanshan District of Tongren, Lou Qinjian learned about the needs and difficulties faced by the local market entities. He hoped that enterprises in Jiangsu can overcome the impact of the epidemic, strengthen vocational training, launch poverty alleviation workshops, and create job opportunities for Tongren.
When inspecting several companies assisted by their counterparts in Suzhou, Lou Qinjian hoped that these enterprises will give full play to the advantages of marketing planning, the Yangtze River Delta market and the advantages of Guizhou’s resource-based products.
Guizhou is the province with the largest number of world natural heritages in China.
When inspecting the industrial remains of the ancient town of Zhusha, Lou Qinjian said that as a resource-exhausted place, the ancient town of Zhusha has embarked on a new path of green development and practiced the new development concept.
Lou spoke highly of the efforts Yunshe Village has made in developing home-stays by relying on the distinctive tourism resources in the locality, adding that everyone is obliged to help Guizhou publicize the tourism industry so that more people will come to visit Guizhou to turn the lucid water and green mountains into invaluable assets.
Guizhou has been making steady progress in social and economic development over the past years, as is evidenced by the fact that Guizhou has 7000 kilometers of expressways in total with expressway reaching out to all the counties, taking the lead in southwest China regions.
Guizhou has also spearheaded the GDP growth rate in the country for 3 consecutive years.
Noting that Guizhou is the main battlefield in the national poverty alleviation campaign and Tongren is the main battlefield in Guizhou’s poverty reduction endeavors, Lou Qinjian said Guizhou’s achievements is a strong indication of the correct guidelines and policies set by the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core and the correct decisions on pairing-up poverty alleviation cooperation, which is a clear manifestation of the significant advantages of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics.
He pledged that Jiangsu will make unremitting efforts to help Guizhou achieve its goals in poverty alleviation so that the people of Guizhou will embark on the moderately well-off society in an all round way in sync with the people from the other parts of the country.
Lou Qinjian also conveyed his greetings to the officials Jiangsu sent to Guizhou for the pairing-up support, hoping that they will help Togren win the fight against poverty and make greater contributions to the social and economic development in Tongren.
