East China’s Jiangsu province and southwest China’s Guizhou Province reached a consensus on the promotion of poverty reduction cooperation at a symposium held Tuesday in Tongren city, Guizhou province. The top leaders from both provinces exchanged their views on the further efforts for poverty alleviation in Tongren Prefecture under the assistance of Suzhou city, Jiangsu province.
Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, extended his congratulations to Guizhou Province on its achievements in the reform and development over the past years.
He spoke highly of the remarkable progress made in the poverty reduction campaign in Tongren under the pairing-up support from Suzhou.
He briefed the leaders from Guizhou on the fulfillment of social and economic development goals in Jiangsu amid the post-pandemic recovery by following the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era and the Xi Jinping’s important instructions on the work of Jiangsu.
Lou Qinjian expressed Jiangsu’s determination to help Tongren Prefecture with the all-round victory in poverty alleviation so as to embark on the road of all-round prosperity.
He also hoped that both sides would strengthen cooperation in talent training, telemedicine, cultural tourism, and public services so as to ensure modern and high-quality life for the people of Jiangsu and Guizhou.
Sun Zhigang, secretary of the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee, expressed his gratitude to the people of Jiangsu for the support Jiangsu has given to Guizhou over the past years.
He said Jiangsu, in particular the city of Suzhou, has shouldered the important political responsibility for poverty alleviation by injecting capital and talents to Guizhou, in particular Tongren Prefecture.
Jiangsu’s strong and orderly financial support, obvious industrial cooperation, talent exchange and support, and labor cooperation have provided great help and support for Guizhou's poverty alleviation and economic and social development, Sun said.
Sun Zhigang noted that as the main battlefield of the country’s poverty reduction campaign, Guizhou will make unremitting efforts to overcome difficulties and ensure the high quality victory in the final year of poverty alleviation campaign.
He hoped that Guizhou and Jiangsu will deepen poverty alleviation cooperation and exchanges in agriculture, industry, and cultural tourism so as to achieve win-win cooperation in a wider field and at a higher level.
