Market procurement trade plus cross-border e-commerce was piloted for the first time in Nantong on Monday when a container of US$60,800 home textile products and US$750 silk quilts was exported to the USA after going though the customs declaration at Dieshiqiao Customs Supervision Station in Haimen County.
The shipment of the goods in one container, or less than carload lot, is both convenient and cost-efficient for the exporters.
The Dieshiqiao International Home Textile Mart is the first pilot project in Jiangsu to reform market procurement trade methods.
The market has so far declared exports of 7.1 billion US dollars through market procurement trade.
Early this year, the Dieshiqiao Home Textile Mart was listed as the Haimen Workstation of Nantong Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Experimental Zone, becoming a national pilot cluster area for market procurement trade methods and cross-border E-commerce foreign trade.
