U.S. retail giant Costco has recently initiated the construction of its second store in China in Xushuguan Economic and Technological Development Zone , Suzhou New District .
On April 9, 2020, Costco’s subsidiary in Suzhou bought a piece of land (No.2020-WG-20) in Suzhou New District at a cost of RMB142.543 million yuan (about 20.2 million U.S. dollars) at auction. Over 100 days later, the construction of Costco (Suzhou) kicked off.
According to the project plan, Costco will strive to finish roofing the building in August, complete construction in November and start business in December, 2021.

With the opening of this Costco store in the future, Xushuguan will develop into a commercial cluster populated by Aeon, IKEA, Decathlon and Costco, the four world-famous retail giants. Please stay tuned for updates!
