East China’s Jiangsu province has embarked on new journey of reform and opening-up under the guidance of the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era and the policies and decisions of the Provincial Party Committee so as to ensure new victories in the promotion of high-quality development and the construction of a new Jiangsu. This is the consensus reached by the participants at the ongoing 8th plenary session of the 13th CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee.
Jiangsu lived up to the expectations of the Party and the people in the first half of this year under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee, as is summed up by Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, in his speech delivered on Wednesday at the opening of the 8th plenary session of the 13th CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee.
No death is reported in the prevention and control of the epidemic in the province and the GDP growth surged to 0.9% year on year, these are the hard-won achievements under the Party’s leadership. Secretary Lou's speech summarized the work in the first half of the year, refined the spirit of unity and hard work, and provided valuable spiritual wealth for our future work.
In the second half of this year, Jiangsu will spare no efforts to ensure stability on the six fronts and security in the six areas in a bid to stabilize economic development for greater victories for the country’s overall development.
Secretary Lou's speech embodies new ideas and new concepts by proposing to coordinate the advancement of the industrial base and the modernization of the industrial chain, which has very strong practical guiding significance. IT manufacturing, optoelectronics, and machinery manufacturing do have weaknesses, making it necessary to optimize the investment structure and industrial structure to enhance the core competitiveness of the industry.
The speech delivered by Lou Qinjian at the opening ceremony stressed systematic planning for a beautiful and livable Jiangsu from the dimensions of good ecology, livable life, social civilization, green development, and cultural prosperity.
The plenary session has sounded the bugle for the construction of a new Jiangsu. the resettlement of rural houses, to my understanding, is a restructuring of the rural landscape. In the next step, we will also compare these standards and requirements to create a "new land of fish and rice" with beautiful mountains and clear waters, blue sky, green land, and beautiful villages.
In his speech, Secretary Lou stressed the importance of rivers and lakes in ecological conservation. We will focus on the problems stood out in this year’s flood disaster to enhance the treatment of water resources and give full play to the role of the rivers and lakes so as to improve water quality and promote livelihood.
