East China’s Jiangsu province will make unremitting efforts to stabilize employment amid post-epidemic recovery so as to ensure stability on the six fronts and security in the six areas, the provincial government said at a press conference on Tuesday.
Jiangsu registered employment of 635.4 thousand people in the first half of this year, accomplishing the annual goal by 63.5%.
The registered unemployment rate in urban areas kept at 3.11% at the end of June, showing stabilized employment situation with no large-scale layoffs or unemployment.
The employment situation remains grim due to multiple factors such as the spread of the international epidemic and the downward pressure on the economy.
Jiangsu will release 23 targeted measures to create high quality job vacancies and stabilize the current positions with particular focus on the supportive measures for 584 thousand fresh college graduates.

Jiangsu will increase the enrollment of postgraduates by 10 thousand this year, according to the circular, Jiangsu will also increase the number of graduates with associate degrees to be admitted into bachelor’s degree programs, 70% and 50% of the public management and social service positions at the grassroots level should be reserved for the fresh college graduates
Jiangsu will make further efforts to reduce the burdens on enterprises with an expected reduction of corporate social security contributions by more than 100 billion yuan throughout the year in a bid to make every effort to ensure the overall stability of the employment situation throughout the year.
