According to the Yellow Thunderstorm Warning Signal issued by Suzhou Meteorological Bureau at noon, most parts of the city are expecting severe convective weather along with 7-to-9-level gales and short-lived torrential rains from afternoon to midnight. Please take reasonable precautions!

Suzhou entered zhongfu(中伏, the middle part of sanfu period ) yesterday. As reported by Suzhou Meteorological Bureau, the city will be dominated by a “scorching heat + afternoon thunder shower” mode, and the unbearable dog days will come back.

We will still have thunder showers in the first few days of this week, and start to have sunny days on July 29 (Wednesday), with the maximum temperature reaching 35℃. It’s advisable to take measures against the summer heat.

July is generally known as the typhoon season in China since its coastal areas are often hit by typhoons during this period. Although the typhoon has not yet threatened China so far this year, it does not rule out the possibility of later outbreaks.

Besides, July and August are the breeding season for mosquitoes and other insects, please pay special attention to the followings:

1. Avoid going to the places with lots of mosquitos or insects, wear long sleeves and trousers, and apply mosquito repellent to exposed skin before going out.

2. Keep your room clean and well-ventilated. For the indoor areas, screen door, mosquito net and pesticide are good enough to keep mosquitoes away.

3. Change clothes and bed sheets frequently, wash next-to-the-skin things like summer sleeping mats and bedding articles with warm water and air them well under the sun regularly.

4. In the case of such symptoms as skin breakage and ulceration or fever after mosquito bites, be ware of skin infection and mosquito transmitted infectious diseases, and seek medical treatment in due time.
