Ren Zhenhe, deputy secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, called for further efforts to advance mass organization reform and for greater contribution toward the construction of a new Jiangsu and a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way. He made the remarks Monday in Wuxi city at a gathering honoring the fifth anniversary of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s instruction on mass organization reform.
Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Provincial Committee, made a written instruction on the promotion of further efforts for mass organization reform.
He asked the mass organizations in the province to follow the important instructions made by General Secretary Xi Jinping and act in accordance with the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era so as to promote mass organization reform from a new starting point and make greater contributions to the fulfillment of this year’s social and economic development.
Ren Zhenhe said the work on mass organizations is an important component of the undertakings of the CPC, and mass organization reform is an important part of overall reform.
Party committees at all levels should take responsibilities to push forward the reform of mass organizations, by steering the direction of the reform, studying the current situation and tackling difficulties to improve the work of mass organizations and their services, Xi said.
He said the reform must focus on the improvement of mass organizations' work to better serve, attract and influence the people, under the leadership of the CPC.
Mass organizations represent people from different lines of work or age groups, such as trade unions, women's groups and youth leagues, Ren said.
Wei Guoqiang, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress and chairman of the Provincial Federation of Trade Unions, attended the meeting. Vice Governor Chen Xingying presided over the meeting.
Speeches were delivered at the gathering by officials from the Provincial Federation of Trade Unions, the Youth League Provincial Committee, the Provincial Women's Federation, the CPC Wuxi Municipal Committee, the CPC Nantong Municipal Committee, the CPC Suqian Municipal Committee, the Jiangning District Women's Federation of Nanjing, the Jingjiang Youth League Municipal Committee, and the Funing County Federation of Trade Unions.
Ren Zhenhe went on an inspection tour to Hodo Group to learn about the conglomerate’s exploration for the trinity corporate governance model "Modern Enterprise System + Enterprise Party Construction + Social Responsibility".
