National policies aimed at helping companies and industries tide through the COVID-19 epidemic have restored confidence, Chen Lifen, deputy to the National People's Congress, the country's top legislature, said on May 24 after learning about this year's Government Work Report.

Chen is the president of Jiangsu Sunshine Group, the world's largest manufacturer of wool textiles and high-grade apparel.

Jiangsu Sunshine Group, a time-honored textile enterprise in Wuxi, employs artificial intelligence and computer vision technology in textile production.

To help the nation overcome the shortfall in medical supplies during the initial stages of the novel coronavirus outbreak, the group started manufacturing medical supplies for workers fighting on the front lines on Feb 3.

According to Chen, the textile company delivered over 300,000 disposable protective suits and 100,000 medical protective suits across the country in February. In addition, they have exported medical protective materials to countries including Romania, England, Portugal, Romania, Spain and Norway.

With regard to the company's further development, Chen said that Jiangsu Sunshine Group will make good use of national preferential policies such as tax and fee reductions and financial support to keep its business operations stable.

Chen noted that innovation is important in helping traditional manufacturing industries achieve high-quality development in the new era.

In addition, the company will focus on quality in the joint pursuit of the Belt and Road Initiative, Chen said, adding that their Ethiopian company is pinning for more relevant companies to promote the industrial chain there.
