Flowers in Suzhou are blooming in May!
Ouyueyuan Garden
China’s first gardening documentary series Signature of Flowers was recently aired on CCTV, the third episode of which presented the beauty of China roses.
At present, beside the two-kilometer-long Lakeside Avenue to the west of Jinji Lake, China roses are in full bloom in the 1000 square meter Ouyueyuan Garden. Stroll along the flagstone walks, you can see roses of various colors and smell their fragrance.
Ouyue is a new member of the China rose family and reputed as the “Queen of Flowers”. The China roses in Ouyueyuan garden start to bloom in April and last until November.
There are also hydrangea, azalea, canna, calamus and lycoris blooming in different parts of the garden.
Xijingwan
As high as an adult’s waist, verbena has come into its own at Xijingwan by the Taihu Lake.
Due to its short flowering period, early summer is the best time to enjoy its beautiful purple flowers. Come to Xijingwan and relax in the purple flower sea!
Chenglin Road
Chenglin Road by the Yangcheng Lake is really a good place for you to have an intimate contact with nature. You can see flowers, ride a bicycle and go camping here.
