Recently, Huai'an Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau and Finance Bureau jointly issued Huai'an Elderly-oriented Transformation Plan, according to which 6 million yuan will be invested and elderly-oriented transformation for 2,000 households of the aged with special difficulties will be carried out.
According to the principle of basic protection and support, Huai'an elderly-oriented transformation in residential space is mainly applied to the families with the elderly of venerable age, disability or severely disability, among the targets in financial difficulties, such as the extremely poor with scattered support, urban and rural resident with minimum living allowance, and the registered low-income persons. At the same time, families with medical staff from the front line in the COVID-19 war, elderly care team members, public security police, professional technicians of ecological environment, and staff of Red Cross Society are also included. Intelligent and personalized transformation will be the key points of the project. For those target families, personalized designs will be formulated based on household assessments. The elderly-oriented changes in family aisles, kitchens, toilets and other spaces will greatly benefit their daily life in walking, bathing, toileting, resting, etc., effectively improve their living environment and reduce their risk of accidents in the family.
