Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu, called for strengthened efforts to restore normal production and living order so as to achieve this year’s goal for epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development during his inspection tour in Nantong city from March 30 to 31.
Wu Zhenglong inspected Yangkou Port and the main port area of the Tongzhou Bay, the Haimen Port, and the Lyusi Port to gain a deep understanding of the port's strategic positioning, functional planning, industrial layout, collection and distribution system, epidemic prevention and control, and resumption of production
At Yangkou Wind Power's home port, Wu Zhenglong learned about the equipment manufacturing, transportation and installation, and asked the port authority to emphasize the overall situation, make overall plans, arrange the scale and layout of various energy sources, improve the level of clean energy consumption, and ensure the green, safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the power grid.
When inspecting the main port area of Tongzhou Bay, the Governor emphasized that the new development concept runs through the entire planning and construction process of the Greater Tongzhou Bay so as to serve the national strategy and build a new engine of high-quality development.
During his visit to the Zenith Green Specialty Steel Base in Haimen Port, Wu Zhenglong asked the local government to play an important role of government and market and support the development of a number of large projects that meet the national strategic requirements, strong industrial drive, safety and environmental protection, and advanced technology.
He hoped that the company would aim high, strengthen the innovation drive, make the green and high-quality steel project a demonstration of implementing the national strategy, a demonstration of the upgrading of traditional industries, a demonstration of promoting the coordinated development of southern Jiangsu, central China and northern Jiangsu, and become a pacesetter for the steel industry.
The Governor went on to visit the construction site of the Shanghai-Nantong high-speed railway bridge where he asked the construction workers to make every possible effort for the early completion of the project.
During his inspection tour in Nantong, Wu Zhenglong demanded that efforts should be made to target both imported cases and possible domestic epidemic rebound while improving measures and mechanisms for emergency response and routine prevention and control.
He also asked the local government to speed up the construction of large transport infrastructure projects by cashing in on the national strategies such as the Yangtze River Delta integrated development plan, the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the Belt and Road Initiative so as to make greater contribution to the province’s high quality development.
