East China's Jiangsu province has lowered its emergency response to the novel coronavirus disease or COVID-19 from level II to level III.
The Jiangsu Provincial People's Government has decided to downgrade the emergency response level for the prevention and control of COVID-19 from level II to level III according to the relevant national laws and regulations and the relevant guidelines of the National Health Commission.
The downgraded response level is effective starting on 24:00 on March 27, 2020.
The provincial authorities have demanded that regional governments should step up measures to prevent the rebound of the epidemic within the country and curb the cross-border transmission of imported cases by land and water.
Efforts should be made to target both imported cases and possible domestic epidemic rebound while improving measures and mechanisms for emergency response and routine prevention and control.
Jiangsu has also called for strengthened efforts to restore normal production and living order so as to achieve this year’s goal for epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development.
