East China’s Jiangsu province has spared no effort to accelerate the resumption of work and production and stabilize foreign trade as the global COVID-19 pandemic has affected the global economy.
Early in the morning, the production lines of Carsem Semiconductor (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. were operating at full gear.
The company in the Suzhou Industrial Park now records a daily shipment of 36 million chips per day with 63% exported to the overseas markets.
As the coronavirus outbreak worsens across the world, Carsem is expected to relocate its production capacity in foreign countries to Suzhou in April.
From epidemic prevention and control to resumption of production, the Jinji Lake business zone of Suzhou Industrial Park where Carsem is located has solved many problems that the local enterprises have encountered.
Local authorities have made unremitting efforts to coordinate the resumption of work by upstream suppliers, ensure the smooth flow of logistics between provinces, customs clearance, return of workers, and coordination of upstream and downstream of the industrial chain.

Many foreign trade companies face increasing uncertainties as the COVID-19 outbreak is worsening across the globe.
Various departments at all levels have taken the initiative to help foreign trade enterprises cope with the impact of the pandemic.
Nanjing Customs has opened a green channel to achieve zero delay in customs clearance so as to protect the rapid customs clearance of epidemic prevention and control materials.
The province has also made efforts to help pillar manufacturing industries such as steel, petrochemicals and semiconductors and the advanced manufacturing industry chain to resume production, step up restructuring and structural adjustment and promote transformation and upgrading.
