意大利锡耶纳市与南通是友好城市。去年10月，市中医院与意大利锡耶纳大学医院结成友好医院。在得知锡耶纳市新冠肺炎疫情形势严峻后，南通市中医院连同国内多家医院共同发起组织了近20万元医疗物资，火速发往意大利。
Nantong Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and many other hospitals in China donated almost 200,000 RMB worth of medical supplies to Italy's Siena City.
Due to the sister city relationship between the two cities, Nanong Hospital of TCM became sister hospital with Hospital of Siena University in 2019.

在得知该批医疗物资已经启程发往意大利之后，锡耶纳大学医院院长Valtere Giovannini立刻录制了一段视频，向南通市中医院表示感谢。视频中他将两地的友好关系比喻为“同海之浪，同树之叶，同园之花”。“在这段艰难的日子里，中国人给意大利很大的帮助，中国专家推广先进经验，咱们交流经验！我相信我们一起一定能够战胜这次疫情。”
After hearing that the medical supplies have been sent to Italy, Valtere Giovannini, President of the Hospital of Siena University, recorded a video to express his sincere gratitude for Nantong Hospital of TCM. In the video, he said the two sides are like spray in the same ocean, leaves on the same tree and flowers in the same garden. “In this difficult time, Chinese people has offered great help to Italian,” he said. “Chinese experts have shared valuable experience. We exchange experience. I believe we will win the fight against COVID-19 together.”
锡耶纳大学医院很多学科在世界上都具有领先地位，超过1000名中国医生曾在该医院学习进修。

沈皓是市中医院的一名副主任医师。2016年10月作为该院第一位被派往意大利锡耶纳大学医院的医师，在那里研修了三个月。沈皓告诉记者他当时在锡耶纳大学医院多个科室进行研修，这些科室都向他反映目前急缺防护用品。
锡耶纳大学医院向南通市中医院发来的协助信
锡耶纳大学医院是托斯卡纳大区的定点医院之一。随着疫情在意大利日益严峻，医院也面临着非常大的压力。截至3月14日，锡耶纳大学医院收治的新冠确诊病例增加到82人 ，其中，死亡14人。
Shen Hao from Nantong Hospital of TCM is the first doctor sent to the Hospital of Siena University in 2016. He had studied there for three months. After hearing that the hospital has received 82 coronavirus-infected patients, among whom 14 were killed by the virus as of March 14, he felt he needed to do something.
意大利锡耶纳大学医院代表团来南通市中医院交流访问
南通市中医院先后有14名医师在锡耶纳大学医院进修。沈皓在医院微信群中发起捐助倡议，得到了大家的响应。接着，沈皓又联系到国内曾在这家医院进修过的其他中国医师。短短两天内共有100多家中国医院的208位医师积极响应，共捐助了近10万元医疗物资。
14 doctors from Nantong Hospital of TCM have studied in the Hospital of Siena University. Shen Hao launched a donation initiative in the hospital's WeChat group. Then, he contacted other Chinese doctors who had studied in the hospital. In just two days, 208 doctors from more than 100 Chinese hospitals responded and donated nearly 100,000 RMB worth of medical supplies.
南通市中医院也紧急募集了近八万元医疗物资，一起发往意大利锡耶纳大学医院。
Nantong Hospital of TCM donated 80,000 RMB worth of medical supplies and sent them to the Hospital of Siena University.
在这次新冠肺炎疫情阻击战中，中医救治发挥了重要作用。南通市中医院院长邵荣世专门定制了中药饮片和香囊药方，医护人员紧急赶制了4000只香囊，也一同发往锡耶纳大学医院。
TCM has played an important role in China's fight against the COVID-19. Shao Rongshi, President of Nantong Hospital of TCM, specially formulated TCM prescriptions for Siena City and organized medical staff to make 4,000 TCM sachets. They will be sent to the Hospital of Siena University along with other medical supplies.
这场爱心接力由一位南通医师发起，受到全国四方积极响应，让远在意大利锡耶纳的人民感受到了中国温度。
