East China’s Jiangsu province has donated medical supplies to its twined cities in foreign countries to help contain the novel coronavirus epidemic or COVID-19.
Half a million surgical masks were transported to South Korea, Japan and Italy on Tuesday.
The half a million masks will be donated to ten twinned cities, 50 thousand for each city, including the Region of Veneto in Italy, said Huang Xiqiang, deputy director of the provincial foreign affairs office.
The city of Wuxi has donated 60 thousand surgical masks and 1500 sets of protective clothing to a Japanese city and two South Korean cities.
CRRC Qishuyan Co. Ltd donated 15 thousand protective masks to its mother company in Japan. Yueda Group and Dongfeng Yueda Kia donated 50 thousand medical masks to Daegu city, South Korea. The TCM Hospital of Nantong donated nearly 200 thousand yuan of medical supplies to Siena, its twinned city in Italy.
