In the past year, the united front work community in Jiangsu has studied and implemented General Secretary Xi Jinping's important thinking on strengthening and improving the united front work by taking the consolidation of common ideological and political foundations as the primary task, making implementation of central decision-making and deployment as a conscious action, and serving economic and social development as a duty, according to a statement released after the meeting.
Since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic, members of the united front community in Jiangsu has actively responded to the Party’s call, made quick response, gave full play to their unique advantages, made donations, and joined hands to play an important role in preventing and controlling the epidemic and promoting economic and social development, the statement said.
To do a good job of the united front work in the new situation, we must strengthen political leadership, promote consensus in in-depth study and implementation of new ideas, and guide the majority of united front members to showcase their talents and make achievements in their fields, said the statement.
Members of the united front community in Jiangsu are urged to strengthen the concept of the overall situation, participate in epidemic rescue and treatment, contribute to scientific research on epidemic prevention and control and scientific and technological innovation in the medical field, help private enterprises and Hong Kong, Macao, and overseas Chinese-funded enterprises to resume work and production in an orderly manner, and win the battle against poverty, according to the statement.
