East China’s will spare no efforts to aid Hubei’s epidemic prevention and control while great attention should be given to the protection and care of the doctors and nurses in Hubei to make sure they are healthy during the battle against the virus. The remark was made Thursday by Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu, at a meeting of the Leading Group for Epidemic Prevention and Control under the Provincial Party Committee.
The participants were briefed on the progress of the medical teams Jiangsu sent to aid Hubei under the national pairing-up support program.
Noting that epidemic prevention and control remains the top priority, the provincial party committee and the provincial government have studied General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on epidemic prevention and control and formulated detailed plans for the airing-up support of medical teams and the provision of key medical supplies, according to a statement released after the meeting.
It is important to further enhance the political stance, implement the Party Central Committee's decisions and deployment in ideology and actions, fully recognize that Hubei and Wuhan are the decisive places to win the battle against the epidemic and that the pairing-up support for Huangshi is an important part of the decisive battle, the statement said.
Measures should be taken to ensure the provision of medical supplies such as N95 masks, medical protective clothing and negative pressure ambulances by give full play to the province’s advantages in manufacturing and logistics, said the statement.
Great attention should be given to the protection and care of the medical workers to make sure they are healthy and stay focused on winning the battle against the outbreak of novel coronavirus disease or COVID-19, according to the statement.
Noting that medical workers are the backbone force in defeating the epidemic, the meeting stressed providing comprehensive support for them to ensure their strength, morale and energy.
More efforts are needed to strengthen efforts to relieve the stress of medical workers, provide them with daily necessities, arrange time for their rest and give them encouragement, said the statement.
Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the medical workers have worked day and night at the frontline. Some were infected or even sacrificed their lives while saving lives.
More than 30,000 medical workers, including military medics, have been sent from across the country to Hubei and Wuhan to fight the epidemic.
Jiangsu has sent to Hubei 2683 doctors and nurses in eight teams to help contain the novel coronavirus epidemic there.
