Jiangsu speeds up resumption of production amid COVID-19 outbreak

East China’s Jiangsu Province has made every possible effort to resumed production of production of key medical supplies and daily necessities for the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus epidemic.

The resumption of production has been in full swing in Wuxi. On February 15th, Wuxi video-signed its first major investment project in the lunar new year. 

Jianshi Medical will invest USD 720 million to develop a high-end R & D and production project in Binhu District to produce high-value medical devices and medical consumables with an estimated output value of 10 billion yuan.

Huahong Electronics' US $ 10 billion integrated circuit manufacturing project in Wuxi also resumed work recently, with 95% of its employees already on duty and the intelligent production line kept busy round the clock.  

Work on key traffic engineering projects has re-started across the province. As of February 14, 13 major transportation projects in the province had resumed construction. 

Construction continued on Lianyungang-Xuzhou High Speed Rail, Yancheng-Nantong Railway, Shanghai-Nantong Railway Phase I project and Wufengshan Yangtze River Bridge connecting line during the Spring Festival.

In order to further alleviate the impact of the epidemic on enterprises, the provincial State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) has introduced ten measures to encourage provincial enterprises to provide support to holding subsidiaries that are temporarily affected by the epidemic's difficulty in financing, and can reduce or exempt interest expenses or guarantee costs for loan funds.

The Provincial Market Regulatory Administration has issued 18 specific measures to respond to the epidemic and support the stable and healthy development of enterprises, totaling 30 million yuan in reduction and exemption of SME commissioned inspection and testing fees and related special equipment inspection fees.

Nanjing will reward returning workers with 12 one-time points for settlement in the urban areas. 

Changzhou has guided enterprises to launch a comprehensive working hour system, which reduces labor costs through flexible adjustment of working hours. 

As of Sunday, 60% of the enterprises in phmarceutcial, electronic, petrochemical, metallurgy and photovoltaics have resumed production since February 10, the first working day after the spring festival holiday.
