East China’s Jiangsu province held an on-site promotion meeting Wednesday in Xuzhou on strengthening rural governance to promote rural civilization.
Ren Zhenhe, deputy secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Wang Yanwen, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Publicity Department, presided over the meeting.
Ren pointed out that strengthening rural governance and raising the level of rural civilization is an urgent need to speed up the construction of a new Jiangsu province, the responsibility of promoting the modernization of agriculture and rural areas, and the inevitable requirement to consolidate the party's governing base in rural areas.
He stressed the importance of strengthening the construction of rural grassroots party organizations, and striving to improve the level of rural grassroots self-government and rural governance according to law so as to promote planning and construction from a high starting point, promote environmental improvement with high quality, and improve farmers' housing with high standards.
Wang Yanwen pointed out that we must adhere to the combination of goal-oriented and problem-oriented approaches, place on top of the agenda strengthening rural governance and promoting rural civilization, and combine the in-depth implementation of rural revitalization strategies.
She called for efforts to deepen the establishment of civilized villages and towns, enrich the cultural life of farmers, and comprehensively strengthen the construction of rural civilization in Jiangsu.
