A conference on cloud computing technologies was held in Suzhou, Jiangsu on November 14, showing that the application of technologies in the transportation sector has made Jiangsu people's traveling more and more intelligent.
Zhou Hong, deputy director of the Information Center of Jiangsu Communications Holding Co, said that by the end of 2017, the company has built a collaborative command and dispatching cloud platform for the province's highways, providing traffic monitoring, data analysis, and real-time information sharing with the public.
Drivers can easily access the highway traffic information with their cellphone, by following the official account Jiangsu Expressway. After clicking the “road information” link, drivers can know the traffic situation in real time as there are about 4,000 cameras installed on the road to work 24 hours a day. Despite the enormous data collected, only one staff member is responsible for the system’s operation thanks to cloud computing technology.
