China Railway Shanghai Bureau Group Co., Ltd. said on Monday that the Yangtze River Delta Railway will gradually promote the application of electronic ticket applications by covering all high-speed rail and EMU train stations before mid-December.

E-tickets were piloted in July this year on the Shanghai-Nanjing inter-city railway, the second pilot route in China. Passengers can enter the ticket gate by swiping the ID card without picking up their tickets. As of the end of October, a total of 18.76 million e-tickets were sold.

Starting on Tuesday until mid-December, China Railway Shanghai Bureau Group Co., Ltd. plans to implement e-tickets for other high-speed rail and EMU train stations and four new lines to be opened in gradual phases.

The e-ticket is conducive to the self-service real-name verification and self-service ticket verification for passengers. Passengers can be self-checked for check-in and boarding to ease the flow of boarding.
