East China’s Jiangsu province and northwest China’s Shaanxi province have reached a consensus on the promotion of exchange and cooperation, according to a meeting between the CPC Provincial secretaries and provincial governors from both sides.
The Shaanxi Provincial Party and Government Delegation visited Jiangsu from October 17 to 18. The delegation was headed by Hu Heping, Secretary of the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress and Liu Guozhong, Deputy Secretary of the Shanxi Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Shaanxi.
Top leaders from both provinces attended a symposium Monday in Wuxi to exchange information on the economic and social development of the two provinces and discuss plans for cooperation between the two sides.
Lou Qinjian, Secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and chairman of the Provincial People’s Congress, and Wu Zhenglong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Jiangsu, met their counterparts from Shaanxi.
On behalf of the Jiangsu provincial party committee and the provincial government, Lou Qinjian welcomed the party and government delegation of Shaanxi Province and expressed his congratulations on Shaanxi's remarkable achievements in economic and social development.
He said that the cooperation with Shaanxi on poverty alleviation is an important political responsibility that the Central Government has given to Jiangsu, and it is also a need for the transformation and development of Jiangsu. It is an important platform for mutual support, complementary advantages, and win-win cooperation between the two provinces, he added.
At present, Jiangsu is making in-depth implementation of the series of important instructions given by General Secretary Xi Jinping onthe work of Jiangsu to ensure that the province’s high-quality development will rank among the best in the country.
The CPC Jiangsu Provincial chief noted that greater efforts need to be made to give full play to the economic complementarity, cooperation, and mutual benefit of Jiangsu and Shaanxi so as to achieve mutual benefit and win-win.
Lou stressed that we must first of all stick to important tasks and start with a firm implementation in order to deepen the cooperation between the two provinces, adding that we must seize the opportunities brought about by the new era and the pattern of development at home and abroad, especially the major opportunities resulting from the Belt and Road initiative and the Yangtze River Economic Belt, strengthen strategic synergy in major industries, major projects and major policies and apply the nail spirit for the implementation of the cooperation projects.
Lou Qinjian remarked that we must also adhere to government promotion and market operations, and encourage more enterprises with greater capacity expansion and industrial transfer willingness to invest in Shaanxi, adding that further innovation and cooperation mechanisms will be the matchmaker with resources, technology, and markets in the two provinces so as to focus on the use of market-based means to build scientific and technological achievements and ensure the smooth flow of capital, talent, technology and other elements between the two provinces.
Hu Heping expressed on behalf of the people of Shaanxi the gratitude to Jiangsu for its support and assistance given to Shaanxi over the past years, which has helped to promote poverty alleviation and social and economic development in Shaanxi and for which the Shaanxi people are always thankful.
Hu said it is hoped that the two provinces will further strengthen the coordination of poverty alleviation to ensure the completion of the task on time, improve the coordination mechanism through regular visits and personnel exchanges at all levels, and encourage more enterprises, social organizations and people from all walks of life to participate in poverty alleviation and industrial cooperation.
The CPC Shaanxi provincial chief hoped more Jiangsu enterprises will invest and launch industrial endeavors in Shaanxi, strengthen the cooperation in key areas such as equipment manufacturing, energy and chemical industry, electronic information, bio-pharmaceuticals, and cultural tourism, deepen the cooperation in opening-up to the outside world, promote the sharing of open platforms, jointly develop markets, promote exchanges and cooperation in human resources, send more Jiangsu officials to work in Shaanxi on temporary basis, strengthen exchanges of talents, and boost labor cooperation to achieve mutual benefit and win-win.
Wu Zhenglong and Liu Guozhong briefed the participants on the economic and social development of the two provinces.
During the inspection, the party and government delegation of Shaanxi Province visited Wuxi Pilot Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd., SK Hynix Semiconductor (China) Co., Ltd., Wuxi Internet of Things Innovation Promotion Center, and the National Supercomputing Wuxi Center.
