Jiangsu has made remarkable progress over the past 70 years and will likely obtain greater success, as is evidenced by the Jiangsu Achievements Exhibition being held in Nanjing these days.
The exhibition, set up at the Nanjing International Expo Center, shows in chronological order the province’s development since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949 in areas including science, technology, education, healthcare and many others.
In celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the exhibitions made a comprehensive demonstration of the achievements made by Jiangsu under the strong leadership of the CPC since the founding of the People's Republic of China through venue exhibitions, online exhibitions, wall charts and other forms.
Special attention is given to the great achievements the province has made since the 18th National Congress of the CPC by implementing General Secretary Xin Jinping's important speech on the work of Jiangsu and the province’s efforts to promote high-quality development.
Among the highlights are the precious photos of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s inspection of Jiangsu, the historical moments when the major infrastructure projects such as the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge was completed and opened to traffic, the chart shows the comparison of data on the economic comprehensive strength development of the province since the founding of New China, and the excellent photographic works showing the most beautiful image of Jiangsu.
Showcasing the province’s intelligent manufacturing power, the exhibition displays the models of the Jiaolong Deep Submersible, the Sunway TaihuLight supercomputer, the iron mantis all terrain crane, the Zhengxing tunnel shielding machine and the fastest solar racing car in the world. These hi-tech achievements are all made in Jiangsu.
Huang Gengnian, an 80-year-old retired professor from Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, donated 70 pieces of Zhongshan wrist watches that are displayed in the showcase. These watches silently record the development of Jiangsu's industrial advancement over the past 70 years.
When visiting the exhibition on Monday, Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, stressed the importance of celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China through the achievement exhibition so as to tell the stories of Jiangsu since the founding of the People's Republic of China in a vivid form that the general public can know and participate in, especially to fully display the practices of building a new Jiangsu in accordance with the instructions of the General Secretary Xi Jinping on the work of Jiangsu and come to be aware that that we must unswervingly follow the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
He called on the province to follow the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for the new era, to boost morale, enhance confidence, and work tirelessly to realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
