Six foreign enterprises have settled in the China-Switzerland (Changzhou) International Industrial Innovation Park that was opened officially on September 26.
Data from the Consulate General of Switzerland in Shanghai showed the Changzhou National High-tech Zone has been one of the clusters of Swiss enterprises in Yangtze River Delta. The zone is home to 15 famous Swiss enterprises in the park with a total investment of nearly $500 million.
The park was set up jointly by Changzhou Municipal Government and the Center for International Economic and Technological Cooperation, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It is the latest international innovation park after China-Israel Innovation Park, China-Germany Innovation Park and Macao-Jiangsu Cooperation Park, all located in Changzhou.
The park’s central development idea will feature innovation, intelligence and green technology, with a focus on industries listed as priorities by both countries, such as equipment manufacturing, carbon fiber reinforced polymer, biomedicine and medical equipment, and production services. By 2025, 30 companies from Switzerland and German-speaking countries are estimated to operate business in the park, which will host another 60 domestic and foreign-funded SMEs. The total investment of enterprises in the park will exceed $3 billion, and the actual use of foreign fund will exceed $2 billion.
On the same day, the zone also organized the agreement signing of 36 key projects with a total investment of 15.6 billion yuan. For example, the investment of an intelligent logistics base, a biotechnology project, and vehicle emission system project reached $100 million, $90 million, and $48 million, respectively.
