Baskerville, A Sherlock Holmes Mystery, a stage play from West End, London is going to meet the Jiangsu audience during the coming Mid-Autumn Festival, according to a media briefing held in Nanjing on Tuesday.

The play is based on the The Hound of the Baskervilles ,the third of the four crime novels written by Arthur Conan Doyle featuring the detective Sherlock Holmes.
At the media briefing, members of the production team told the story of rehearsals of the stage play, and stripped the media and fans of the highlights, replaying the interlocking reasoning scene and amazing meticulous thinking. According to the director, the combination of horror elements and comedy atmosphere is the biggest highlight of the play.

“It’s though comic moments, and the comedy is the way beyond language. The comedy is easy to see and extremely funny and clever, and I think audiences even don’t speak English will really really enjoy and relish it,” said the director.
Two lead actors also joined the media briefing. They say that another highlight of the play is that only 5 actors bring altogether 42 roles.

Patrick Robinson, the actor who plays Dr. Watson said that he is personally impressed by the fact that the 42 characters in the play are created by only 5 actors. “It’s very busy, and it’s really exciting to see and experience as well.”

Jolyon Coy, the actor who plays Sherlock Holmes in the play, performed at Jiangsu Center for the Performing Arts 3 years ago. When asked whether he feels stressed since Sherlock Holmes played by Benedict Cumberbatch is so well-known in China, Jolyon said: “No. I don’t feel any pressure because it’s completely different. You’re gonna love it!”
The stage play will be performed for 4 consecutive nights at Jiangsu Center for the Performing Arts from September 12th to 15th.
