Five top-rate technicians from east China’s Jiangsu province are among the 63-member team of China that has left China for Russia to compete in the 45th WorldSkills Competition to be held in Kazan of Russia on August 22.

The five Jiangsu members are Zhang Ziyang in the bakery event, Zhong Lingwei in the sugar art event, Zhang Weijun in the industrial machinery assembly event, Yao Jin in the cloud computing event and Jin Qing in the furniture production event.

The WorldSkills Competition occurs every two years and is the biggest vocational education and skills excellence event in the world that truly reflects global industry.

The Competitors represent the best of their peers and are selected from skills competitions in WorldSkills Member countries and regions. They demonstrate technical abilities both individually and collectively to execute specific tasks for which they study and/or perform in their workplace.

In 2011, contestants from Jiangsu competed in WorldSkills Competition for the first time. Last year, Jiangsu technicians won two gold medals and one silver medal at the world event.
