Eight police officers returned to Yangzhou City after successfully completing a one-month joint patrol mission on behalf of Chinese police in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, on August 17.
The police officers participated in joint patrols with their Croatian counterparts, set up a Chinese police hotline, visited local Chinese community to promote exchanges, and increased mutual understanding between overseas Chinese and Croatian police, winning high praises from Zagreb citizens.
The joint patrol, the second of its kind between two countries, held a launch ceremony in the center of Zagreb on July 11. Later the eight police officers from Yangzhou were divided into four groups and joined local police for tasks in the capital city, Dubrovnik, Zadar, and Plitviče Lakes National Park. Despite the heatwave over one month, the police officers patrolled more than 10 kilometers on foot per day, with the highest hitting 30,000 steps, or 22 kilometers a day, in Plitviče Lakes National Park.
