2019 Jiangsu Refined Arts and Crafts Expo opened Thursday morning at the international expo center of Nanjing.
More than 10,000 pieces of refined arts and crafts are put on display. They include purple clay pottery, embroidery, jade carving, lacquer ware, crystal carving, mahogany carving, and Ming dynasty style furniture.
Jiangsu is the earliest province in China for the development of arts and crafts with the most complete categories, the most skilled craftsmanship and the most developed industries.
As of 2018, the province registered 618 large enterprises in the refined arts and crafts sector.
Their operating revenue totaled 103 billion yuan, up 11.4% year on year. Their combined profits surged to 7.4 billion yuan, up 13.2% year on year.
Jiangsu has a workforce of nearly 1 million in the arts and crafts sector. The presence of 63 national arts and crafts masters ranks the province the first place in the country.
