General Secretary Xi Jinping has in recent years repeatedly called for the promotion of the Yuhuatai martyrs’ spirit and make good use of the revolutionary resources of the Yuhuatai Martyrs’ Cemetery. In today’s program, we will visit the cemetery to trace the loyalty to the Party’s founding mission from the martyrs who were killed at Yuhuatai.

To the south of the Zhonghua Gate, the Yuhuatai Revolutionary Martyrs Monument stands quietly above the hills. On the occasion of the national campaign of staying true to the Party’s founding mission, Party members from across the province visited the Yuhuatai Martyrs Memorial Hall every day to relive the revolutionary struggle of the Chinese Communist Party.

From 1927 to 1949, tens of thousands of Chinese Communists and patriots such as Yun Daiying, Deng Zhongxia, Shi Huang and many others were killed by the Kuomintang government in Yuhuatai.

Their deeds show the Communists’ lofty ideals and beliefs, noble moral sentiments, and the fearless spirit of sacrifice for the people, as is put by General Secretary Xi Jinping.

The spirit of Yuhuatai martyrs has also become an important component of the revolutionary spiritual pedigree of the Communist Party of China. It is the best interpretation of their ideals and beliefs, and reflects the generosity of the Chinese Communists.

Nanjing has established Yuhuatai Cadres College, launched an opera Yuhuatai, and published the Interpretation of Yuhuatai Martyrs’Spirit. The revolutionary resources represented by Yuhuatai have become a primary platform for educating the cadres and helped to promote the theme education of staying true to the Party’s founding mission.
