Zhang Jun, Director of Zhang Jun Law Firm in the USA and Honorary President of Jiangsu General Chamber of Commerce in the USA, has been hailed for his commitment to supporting his native province’s development. He attended the second Jiangsu Development Summit that took place on May 20 in Nanjing.
Zhang Jun was born in Nanjing. He earned his J.D. at Brigham Young University of the USA. He is now an expert in law related matters and a public speaker. As a famous lawyer, he is admitted to the United States Supreme Court and the California Supreme Court.
Zhang arrived at Nanjing ten days before the opening of the second Jiangsu Development Summit to promote his new book on the US law and judicial system.
Zhang Jun is a native of Nanjing. After graduating from college, he went to the United States for international studies and then obtained a juris doctorate. In July 2007, he was admitted to the United States Supreme Court, committed to safeguarding the legality of the interest of the Chinese companies in the United States.
Practicing in the United States for more than 20 years, Zhang Jun has handled many cases, not only those of Chinese-Americans, but other ethnic groups. He learned from his years of experience that one must have the cultural awareness when dealing with different groups of people.
Starting from 2017, Zhang Jun opened a column on Pear Video, one of China’s largest news video website. The column is called America with Zhang Jun, and he analyzes hot issues in the US, including gun control, immigration and etc.
Although Zhang Jun has lived in the US for many years, he has a special sense of intimacy with every message from his hometown. When he was a child, his family lived in Xinjiekou, Nanjing. When he grew up, he moved to Baixia Road. The taste of Nanjing in his memory always evokes the tender homesickness in his heart.
Zhang Jun came back immediately when he was invited to participate the first Jiangsu Development Summit in 2017. At the Jiangsu Development Summit this year, he also participate different forums and discussions to give his inputs to Jiangsu’s development.
In the two years after the first Jiangsu Development Summit, Jiangsu has focused on promoting high-quality development by opening its door wider. Zhang Jun has kept returning to Jiangsu to chair train sessions for Chinese universities and private companies. He has also exchanged and cooperated with the media operators in Jiangsu. He believes that as an economic and cultural powerhouse, Jiangsu can further strengthen its international communication and give good interpretation of Jiangsu so that more people can understand Jiangsu.
