Nanjing and Suzhou from Jiangsu province are placed among the top 10 cities in terms of the comprehensive economic competitiveness and sustainable competitiveness index, according to the 17th Report on China's Urban Competitiveness released recently by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Wuxi, Nantong, Nanjing and Zhenjiang are listed among the top ten livable cities, according to the report. Wuxi ranked first among the livable cities in the Chinese mainland for three consecutive years. The report examines the comprehensive economic competitiveness, livable competitiveness, and sustainable competitiveness of more than 200 cities in the Chinese mainland as well as Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan in 2018 by observing China's economic development and trends from the urban level.
