Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, met Tuesday morning in Nanjing with Nicolas Chapuis, head of the EU delegation to China.
Lou Qinjian expressed his appreciation to Mr. Nicolas Chapuis for his contribution to promoting China-EU cooperation, especially the friendly cooperation between Jiangsu and the EU, and exchanged in-depth views on further strengthening exchanges and cooperation.
Lou said that Jiangsu has benefited from reform and opening up and will continue to expand its openness, adding that the province will continue to provide services for EU-invested companies in Jiangsu as they belong to the EU and Jiangsu as well.
The CPC Provincial chief noted that Jiangsu is making efforts to promote industrial restructuring, strengthen eco-environmental protection, encourage greater technological innovation, implement the most stringent intellectual property protection, and strive to make Jiangsu products a symbol of high-quality products in the world.
He said the overlapping effects of the Belt and Road initiative, the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region will offer broad space for EU-invested companies to seek greater development potentials in Jiangsu.
We are willing to share development opportunities with EU-invested enterprises, conform to the laws of development, deepen exchanges and cooperation, and achieve shared development, said Lou.
Nicolas Chapuis said that Jiangsu has a profound cultural heritage, a beautiful ecological environment, and remarkable achievements in economic and social development, adding that the EU countries have attached great importance to the exchanges and cooperation with Jiangsu as the EU-invested enterprises in Jiangsu have become part of Jiangsu's development.
He pledged that the EU is willing to further promote the pragmatic cooperation between the EU countries and Jiangsu, and encourage the EU-invested enterprises to expand their investment in Jiangsu, develop more environmentally friendly and higher safety production standards, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win cooperation in the process of enhancing cooperation.
