Nanjing hosts Global Talent Week to boost innovation

The first Nanjing Global Talent Week, the only talent-themed event during the Nanjing Tech Week, opened in Jiangning District, Nanjing City on June 23, when the China-Germany and China-Italy Innovation and Entrepreneurship competitions were also launched.

Liu Yunjie, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor You Xiaohu of the Southeast University, and Andrew Chi-Chih Yao, member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, were among five top experts to open innovation base in the city. Eleven foreign experts from Canada, the United States, South Korea, Germany, Britain, Italy, Japan, Sweden, Finland, and Malaysia won the Purple Mountain “Haizhi Award.” The city also announced the appointment of 12 people as Overseas Talent Introduction Ambassador.

With a focus on intelligent manufacturing, sustainable and green technologies, the China-Germany and China-Italy Innovation and Entrepreneurship competitions were also held on the same day. Dozens of outstanding science and technology projects were selected in the two international competitions.
