The fourth Australia-Jiangsu Business Week and the Development Summit of Australia Jiangsu Business Council (AJBC) kicked off in Melbourne on June 20, attracting 60 of its member enterprises.

During the past half year of 2019, three high-level officials, including Daniel Andrews, premier of Victoria State, Linda Dessau, governor of Victoria State, and Sally Capp, mayor of Melbourne, have paid visits to Jiangsu, greatly promoting cooperation between the two sides.

The strong links between Jiangsu and Victoria, two sister states for 40 years, have pooled lots of Jiangsu merchants to invest in Victoria, playing an increasingly important role in various fields, such as finance, law, agriculture, mineral resources, international trade, as well as retailing.

Participants of the activity also attended an information exchange meeting held by Victoria state government to celebrate the 40 years of friendly bond between Jiangsu and Victoria, and also to show gratitude to the efforts that AJBC has done for skilled and investment immigration to Victoria.

David Latin, deputy secretary of Victoria State Regional Development Ministry, emphasized the bilateral efforts in business and cooperation in his speech, saying that Victoria and Jiangsu, on the basis of mutual trust and understanding, have established the longest and most active partnership with each other.

Xu Jun, executive president of AJBC, urged the new Jiangsu immigrants to quickly merge into the local community and the previous immigrants to lend a helping hand as often as possible.
