Nearly 40 students from 12 countries including the United States, Britain, Germany, France and Canada participated an international peace workshop at the Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders on June 18 and 19.
Those students started the mourning ceremony at 8:30 am on June 19 at the square, also the site to hold the state memorial ceremony for China's National Memorial Day for Nanjing Massacre Victims. They also presented flowers and struck the Peace Bell in the ceremony.

Sebastain May from the UK said he had never heard of the history of the Nanjing Massacre before visiting the memorial hall. He also said that he was shocked to know Japanese invaders killed some 300,000 Chinese in the massacre, which was very cruel.
The foreign students also had face-to-face talks with Ai Yiying, a survivor of the massacre in 1937.

Through the visit and study in one and a half days, those students increased their understanding of this history and also received a certificate from the memorial hall. The students said they are willing to be peace envoys in the future and help young people from all over the world to remember this tragic history and cherish peace.
