The city of Jiangyin released more than 6 million fish fry into the local section of the Yangtze River Wednesday morning. The fish fry includes puffer fish, herring, grass carp and squid. This is the 18th year for the city to release fish fry into the Yangtze. A total of 160 million fish fry has been released into the Yangtze during the 18-year period. The return of the fry to the Yangtze River will proliferate the Yangtze River aquatic resources, contribute to the overall restoration of the Yangtze River ecological environment, and inject new life and hope into the Mother River. Jiangsu has recently released its plan for the protection and rehabilitation of the ecology of the Yangtze River in a bid to step up its efforts for the protection over the Yangtze.
