Yangzhou City in Jiangsu Province opened its first Environmental Education Base on June 5, also the 48th World Environment Day.
The base, located in Yangmiao Town of Hanjiang District, has a floor area of about 1,500 square meters, with four halls planned. In the base, visitors can wear VR headsets to see the world from an insect’s angle, access more information through a screen, and engage in other interactive programs to learn about environmental protection.
In recent years, Yangmiao Town has developed a unique tourism product that centers on environmental conservation and countryside trip. After visiting the base in the first stop, people can go to environmental protection companies to have a direct understanding about how domestic garbage, kitchen waste and industrial waste are dealt with and changed into valuable things, and then experience the countryside life in lush mountains and by clean river.
