Shenzhen Donghai Airlines Co will set up a branch and operation base at the Xingdong International Airport in Nantong, East China’s Jiangsu province, according to an agreement signed between the two sides on May 29.
The company plans to introduce five airplanes in Nantong by the end of 2020. It will complete construction on supporting facilities as soon as possible to ensure the proper functioning of logistic services at the airport.
The partnership is expected to turn Nantong into a key hub for Donghai’s service network in the Yangtze River Delta region.

Donghai Airlines, a joint venture based in Shenzhen, South China’s Guangdong province, started commercial operations in September 2006.
The company currently owns 23 passenger planes, mainly Boeing 737-800 models. It is expected to serve more than 6 million passengers in 2019.

The Nantong Xingdong International Airport, which opened in 1993, is the oldest general civil airport in Jiangsu province. It served 2.77 million passengers in 2018, and the number is expected to reach 3.5 million this year.
A new terminal building covering an area of 52,000 square meters will open in July.
