Three sub-forums held in Wuxi Taihu New City marked the start of the 2019 New-gen Manufacturing Conference of Xuelang Town on May 9.
Talking about intelligent manufacturing, talent cultivation and industrial internet respectively, the three sub-forums invited experts and enterprises to share their opinions on how the manufacturing industry should approach the changes being brought about by the digital era.
Over 300 guests attended the intelligent manufacturing forum and exchanged ideas on the solutions to problems manufacturing enterprises face when transforming, upgrading and integrating with the internet and big data.
"The significance of intelligent manufacturing lies in the use of data as a new raw material for manufacturing enterprises. In today's construction of new manufacturing plants, data has brought about revolutionary changes," said Wang Feng, founder of Wuxi Xuelang Digital System Technology Co., Ltd.

Xu Jianfeng, vice manager of the Jiangyin-based Shuangliang Eco-energy Systems, shared Shuangliang's experience in transforming from traditional manufacturing to service-oriented manufacturing.
"Enterprises must know how to provide customers with more professional and intelligent energy-efficiency management services to help them create value continuously," said Xu.
Experts from Tsinghua University, Fudan University and Zhejiang University discussed talent cultivation within the realm of the industrial internet with some entrepreneurs.
They agreed that young talents were the main force that will transform and upgrade the field and even experienced workers will need to improve themselves with regards to new technologies.

During the forum themed around the industrial internet, the 2019 Research Report on the Development of the Industrial Internet Industry in the Yangtze River Delta was released, giving ideas on new development models and key directions for the progress of industrial internet industries in the Yangtze River Delta.
Shen Bin, deputy secretary of the China Alliance of the Industrial Internet, took intelligent upgrading a powerful tool for enterprises to enhance competitiveness, noting that "they should change inefficient production methods and arm themselves in quality ways."
Over 800 manufacturing enterprises along the Yangtze River Delta gathered at the 2019 New-gen Manufacturing Conference in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, on May 9-10, exchanging ideas on how to better integrate the manufacturing industry and internet.
