A national symposium on agricultural machinery was held in Zhenjiang on Monday. The symposium was held to implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s requirements on developing mechanical and intelligent agriculture and innovative products with market prospects for the development of agriculture in different regions.
Present at the symposium were Zhang Baowen, former vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Zhang Huaixi, former vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and Yang Yue, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the United Front Work Department.
When addressing the symposium, Yang Yue noted that it is important to follow the important argument made by late Chairman Mao Zedong that the fundamental way out for agriculture lies in mechanization and General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on promoting the development of mechanized and intelligent agriculture.
Jiangsu will make overall efforts to deepen the rural high-quality development of rural reform and innovation and agricultural mechanization, and provide a strong impetus for the modernization of agricultural and rural areas in the province, he said.
The participants made suggestions for the promotion of China's agricultural and rural modernization by focusing on accelerating the promotion of agricultural mechanization and the transformation and upgrading of the agricultural machinery and equipment industry.
