Authorities in Siyang County of Jiangsu province have spared no efforts to promote poverty alleviation by nurturing skills for the local farmers so as to help them build up their fortune.
This edible fungus production plant covers an area of more than 8,000 square meters. It is jointly built with the special funds of the Siyang County Industrial Enrichment Project and the local leading enterprises in accordance with the 1:1 capital contribution. In this way, the company has expanded its production scale, and hired more and more rural surplus laborers.
The output of edible fungi in Siyang accounts for about a quarter of the province's share, and it is one of the leading industries with strong driving force and income growth efficiency. Many new projects that have just been completed will be effective as soon as they are put into production.

In order to implement the spirit of the General Secretary's speech, authorities in Siyang County have taken the implementation of the agricultural industry enrichment project as a starting point by cultivating 13 agricultural industry enrichment projects such as factory edible fungi, facility vegetables and fine peach fruit to cater to the low-income households with working capacity.
2019 is the crucial year for China to realize its goal of poverty alleviation. Jiangsu will boost the development of one or two guiding industries and incubate 3 or 4 emerging industries with strong market potentials. The province will also arrange for capital, market and technology to be geared towards poverty-stricken counties. 300 million yuan has been allocated in this regard while regional governments are also stepping up their efforts on poverty alleviation projects.
