The 8th Standing Committee session of the 13th Provincial People's Congress closed in Nanjing Friday morning after fulfilling the various agendas. Lou Qinjian, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, presided over the closing meeting and delivered a speech.
The legislations passed at the meeting include Regulations on the Promotion of Family Education in Jiangsu Province, Regulations on Waterway Transportation in Jiangsu Province, Regulations on Promotion of Marine Economy in Jiangsu Province, Regulations on Promotion of School-Enterprise Cooperation in Vocational Education in Jiangsu Province, and the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Jiangsu Province on Amending Decisions on Urban and Rural Planning Regulations of Jiangsu Province.
The session also passed the decision on the renaming of the Foreign Affairs and Tourism Subcommittee of the Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee, and approved four local laws and regulations submitted by Nanjing and other cities.
Personnel appointment and dismissal were passed at the session with the letters of appointment conferred by Lou Qinjian and swearing-in ceremony by the appointees.
During his speech, Lou Qinjian stressed the importance of the four regional regulations, saying that the nine local laws and regulations are the specific measures for implementing the reform of the Party Central Committee and the State Council on reducing the burden and facilitating the people so as to effectively help with the people’s desire for business startups.
The Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress and the staff must take the lead in learning the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's speech so as to uphold the four consciousnesses and the four self-confidences, safeguard the authority of the CPC Central Committee and unite around the centralized and unified leadership the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, he said.
The CPC Provincial Chief demanded that more efforts should be made to ensure a firm stand and a clear-cut attitude on major issues, and resolutely maintain a high degree of unity with the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, and strive to make more Jiangsu contributions to the overall development of the party and the country.
