East China’s Jiangsu province will realize the sky, air and land integrated ecological environment monitoring network by 2020 in a bid to improve environmental quality through full coverage monitoring on key pollution sources and ecological environment, according to the "Three-Year Development Plan for Ecological Environment Monitoring and Control System of Jiangsu Province between 2018 and 2020 released by the General Office of the Provincial Government recently.
According to the Plan, Jiangsu will make continued advancement to improve the automatic monitoring network for water environment, strengthen the construction of automatic air monitoring network, build an integrated ecological monitoring system for sky and land, build a monitoring network for pollution sources, improve the monitoring capabilities of drones, and environmental laboratories at all levels.
Jiangsu will build 318 new water stations, renovate 126 established water stations, and construct a provincial water environment automatic monitoring and early warning and forecasting system with air quality monitoring centers installed at cities, counties and key townships so as to boost the accuracy of air quality forecasting to over 80%.
