The 2019 Suzhou Shushan Pear Blossom Tourism Culture Festival was held in Shushan, a village in Tong'an town, Suzhou New District, Jiangsu province, on March 22.
Themed on "rural revitalization, integration of culture and tourism", the 45-day festival features 10 different activities, including admiring 1,600 mu (106.67 hectares) of pear blossoms, exploring various flowers and folk songs in Shushan, a folk culture exhibition, and going hiking.
In addition, renowned high-end boutique hotel Blossom Hill and Xinhua Bookstore announced plans to locate to Shushan at the opening ceremony, giving tourists another option for relaxing themselves in the village.
The village also opened a country music hall on a local business street, which will be constructed into a cultural landmark in Shushan and a center for folk songs.
In recent years, Tong'an has ramped up efforts to build itself into a top-grade rural tourism destination in China and to establish the brand of Shushan Pear Blossoms.
The Shushan festival has been recognized as the most beautiful, influential and prestigious festival in China by the Xinhua net along with other 34 festivals over the past three years.
