More than 40 foreigners and local citizens planted trees at the Nantong Sutong International Ecological Forest on the banks of the Yangtze River.

The foreigners from more than ten countries including Britain, Italy, Japan and Namibia are now studying, working or living in Nantong. James, a teacher at Nantong Vocational University, said that this is a meaningful activity and Nantong has become more and more beautiful in recent years. He said he hopes that the trees he has planted will thrive and make the city greener.

The tree planting activity, organized by the Nantong Foreign Affairs Office and the Nantong Municipal Government Information Office, have been carried out for more than ten years. Since the launch of the Sutong International Ecological Forest in 2014, volunteers have planted trees here for six years. The forest is now home to thousands of seedlings and has become a base for friendly exchanges between China and foreign countries.
