Job fairs were held across the province to offer jobs to returned migrant workers as they have got back home for the spring festival holiday.
A job fair saw the hustle and bustle of job hunters. More than 5000 job seekers showed up at the job fair while 1600 of them reached initial intent of employment.
A job fair held in Gaochun district of Nanjing saw more than 7,000 jobs offered by 250 enterprises.
Job fairs were also held in Huai'an, Yancheng, Taizhou, the largest source of migrant workers in the past two decades. The industrial transformation and upgrading stirred the demand for more workers while local governments have released policies to encourage mass entrepreneurship by starting their businesses. The rising wages in the previously underdeveloped northern regions have also helped to lure many migrant workers to return home for employment.
By the end of March, various kinds of job fairs will be held throughout the province. In Nanjing alone, hundreds of job fairs will provide 90,000 jobs that are released through the human resources market windows, electronic screens, websites, newspapers, and WeChat accounts. Recruitment information is published in a variety of channels to serve both job hunters and employers.
