The inaugural Youth Olympic Art Lantern Fair is to be lit up on January 28th in Nanjing as part of the upcoming Nanjing-Xi’an twin city lantern show.
The 2019 Youth Olympic Art Lantern will be staged from 6:30 to 9:30 every night from January 28th to February 28th. The lantern show will be centered on Jiangshan Street, International Youth Culture Park, Youth Olympic Museum Square and Nanjing Eye Pedestrian Bridge as the central axis. Divided into 6 theme exhibition areas, the illumination will create a modern light shadow visual feast.
In order to ensure that the public can gain access to the lantern show, traffic control will be imposed every day in some sections of the Jianye District from 5 pm to 10 pm during the Lantern Festival.
Residents living nearby need to present their valid ID to drive into the venues as the traffic police will expand the diversion area.
The police, however, have advised local residents to take metros or tram cars to visit the lantern show.
The police will cap the daily visitor flow at 20,000. Visitors are advised to visit the "2019 Youth Olympic Art Lantern Festival" WeChat public account and make an appointment for an electronic ticket. Each Wechat account will be valid for 3 reservations.
