With the approval of the Higher People's Court of Jiangsu Province, Huai'an established the Hongze Lake Basin Environmental Resources Court, part of the Hongze District Court.
The court will further eliminate the jurisdictional barriers that affect environmental cases, promote the joint management and cooperation in environmental resources pollution control, improve the overall governance of the basin’s ecological environment, and unify the judicial protection effort.
The new court will also work with other departments, such as the Hongze Lake Administration Committee, police, fishery administration and procuratorial organs, to jointly prevent and punish the crimes against the ecological environment to guarantee the lake’s clean water.
